American-Made Cleaning Solutions with a Purpose

Quartz Mountain began with the friendship of Dustin Whittenburg, Pat E. Taylor and her husband Rev. James Taylor.  The Taylors had spent decades producing and making Lime Solv.  It was their response to a real cleaning problem in one of the toughest hard water regions in the country.

Back in the 1960s, Pat was looking for a better way to remove hard water buildup from fixtures and equipment in South Texas. With water hardness often reaching 200 to 300 PPM, or 12 to 18+ grains per gallon, ordinary cleaners simply were not enough.

To solve the problem, Pat sent samples to her father in California, who was a chemist. He studied the buildup and sent back a formula designed to break down lime scale, mineral deposits, and hard water residue. Pat then began to produce it, and Lime Solv was born.

The product quickly earned a place in South Texas stores, eventually landing in Handy Dan, Target and H-E-B. For decades, Lime Solv built its reputation by doing exactly what it was created to do: make tough mineral buildup easier to remove.

In 2018 Pat could no longer keep up with the production requirements of normal retail.  She continued to market the product to friends, family and others that relied on the product.

In 2023 Pat sold the formula to new owners who continued to market and sell the original Lime Solv formula.  The new owners also expanded the Quartz Mountain line while staying true to its original purpose. Using the same proven formula as a foundation, they developed Coil Solv and Quartz Mountain Industrial Strength Degreaser for broader maintenance and cleaning applications.

Today, Quartz Mountain continues to offer practical, effective cleaning solutions built from real-world problems. Proudly manufactured and warehoused in the United States, our products are made for dependable quality, consistent availability, and the people who need to get the job done right.
